Reports at 8:10 a.m. on September 26, 2003 that Robert Palmer has died of a
heart attack. He will be remembered fondly. Robert's music spanned more than 20 years and genres from big band to reggae to rock to blues . He was one of my favorite artists, as you might have guessed from this fan web page and I owned probably 15 of his albums. I once performed "Addicted to Love" complete with the "Robert Palmer Girls" in front of my high school for theatre class. He will be sorely missed by the music community worldwide. Here is an article from CNN which is reprinted below. --J |
LONDON, England (CNN) -- Rock singer Robert Palmer has died in Paris of a heart attack at the age of 54, his manager said. The British star, whose chart hits in the 1980s included Addicted to Love, suffered the attack in the early hours of this morning, Mick Cater said. Palmer, who lived in Switzerland, was staying in the French capital with his partner, Mary Ambrose, after recording a TV appearance in the UK. "I can't say anything else at this point, I'm just in shock," Cater of What Management in England told CNN.
